What SIP providers work with TalkVoip?

TalkVoip works with any standard SIP provider or PBX system, including:

  • FreePBX / Asterisk
  • 3CX
  • VoIP.ms
  • Twilio
  • Vonage
  • Sipgate
  • Any RFC 3261 compliant SIP server

Contact your provider for the specific server settings (host, port, transport).

How do I configure TalkVoip for FreePBX?

To connect TalkVoip to FreePBX:

  • In FreePBX, create an extension (PJSIP or Chan_SIP)
  • Note the extension number and secret (password)
  • In TalkVoip Settings, enter:
    • Username: Your extension number
    • Password: The extension secret
    • Domain: Your FreePBX server IP or domain
    • Port: 5060 (or 5061 for TLS)
  • Tap Register to connect
Why is my registration failing?

Common causes of registration failure:

  • Wrong credentials: Double-check your username and password
  • Server address: Verify the host address is correct
  • Port/Transport: Try different combinations (5060/UDP, 5061/TLS)
  • Firewall: Ensure SIP traffic isn't blocked
  • Account status: Confirm your account is active with your provider
How do I use BLF keys?

BLF (Busy Lamp Field) keys allow quick call pickup and extension monitoring:

  • Go to Settings and enable "Show BLF Keys"
  • Configure your slot range (default: 71-78)
  • BLF keys appear below the dial pad when enabled
  • Tap a key to pick up a call on that slot
Does TalkVoip support video calls?

Currently, TalkVoip focuses on high-quality audio calls. Video calling is planned for a future release.

Is my call data secure?

Yes, TalkVoip supports enterprise-grade security:

  • TLS: Encrypted SIP signaling (select TLS transport)
  • SRTP: Encrypted audio streams
  • Secure Storage: Credentials stored in iOS Keychain

For maximum security, ensure your SIP provider supports TLS/SRTP.

Can I use TalkVoip with multiple accounts?

Yes! TalkVoip supports multiple SIP accounts. You can:

  • Add multiple accounts in Settings
  • Switch between accounts
  • Receive calls on any registered account
